2008 Reconciliation DinnerOn behalf of Komagata Maru Heritage Foundation and Anniversaries of Change, I am honored to invite you to attend our Reconciliation Dinner July 23, 2008 @ Surrey Convention Centre in Surrey B.C.
One hundred years after the infamous Continuous Journey Act, the Reconciliation Dinner is a rare opportunity for Canadians to bear witness to historic changes in cultural relations over the past century. The faces and foes of change, the setbacks, the heroes, the challenges ahead and much more will be the centerpiece of the evening’s program: a conversation amongst Labor, Chinese, Aboriginal, South Asian and Japanese moderated by Media personality from Channel M and Radio India Journalist Harpreet Singh.
More than the evening’s official program, the Reconciliation Dinner is a chance for communities to come together to acknowledge their past differences and “solitudes,” to recognize and speak to commonalities and to begin charting the terms of a new relationship based on principles of equality and respect.
I hope you will join us on July 23, 2008 at Surrey Convention Centre in Surrey B.C.
